The bay of San Fruttuoso, seated in the Parco Naturale Regionale di Portofino (Natural regional park of Portofino) owns an important artistic jewel: the Abbazia of Doria Pamphili family, dated back to the tenth century.
It has been donated from the ancient family to FAI and today it is a prestigious historical monument.
The little inlet was anciently often visited by pirates and navigators from Genoa. Today it is a touristic center inside a natural appealing context. The emerald green sea mirrors the Mediterranean vegetation all around.
A very famous attraction in San Fruttuoso is the Christ under the sea, called Cristo degli Abissi, which is at 17 meters under the sea level, with its open arms to protect all navigators, seamen and divers.
